Meet Our Staff

Kari’s the ultimate in floral design. She can multitask like no one else and effortlessly compose a fabulous arrangment in minutes if necessary. Her eye for color, design and texture make her stand out amongst her peers….but you will never hear her admit it.

Passionate about flowers her whole life she decided to attend Purdue University and study Horticulture. Deciding her real love was in designing floral work she attended Design Art Floral Academy in Indianapolis and the Southern California School of Floral Design in Anaheim, CA. Since then in 2004 she was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) in Manhattan, NY. She is a past President of the Indiana Unit of Teleflora, and past Chairperson of the Midwest Floral Conference. Some of her past design work includes The Schermerhorn Grand Opening Gala in Nashville, TN, the historic West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick, IN, The Chicago Flower and Garden Show, and the Chicago House Gala. In 2009 she finally decided to open her own floral design studio and shop, Lillian Rose, as there was a want and need for her style of floral arranging in the Fort Wayne area.

Kari is a people person and this shows in her work with Weddings, such a personal experience in people’s lives. When she’s not hard at work on an event she likes to take off around the country continuing her education in Floral Design and helping her floral friends with their events all over the world….but she always returns home to her family and farm where you can catch her out in her garden or collecting eggs with her daughter.

Becky is the perfectionist! Whether it’s creating all of our lovely linens and drapery in the store or a Bridal bouquet rest assured if her hands have touched it, its dang well perfection.

She found her love for creating all things beautiful at an early age. At late night card playing parties her mother took her to she found herself awash in crayons, construction paper and other things intended to keep a child busy. She drew from these experiences later as a visual merchandizer for upscale Women’s boutiques in Fort Wayne where fashion became her medium. Here she used her knowledge about artificial flower design and took art classes at St. Francis to assist her with window displays. Later she branched into fresh flower design to work with her daughter-in-law Kari and in 2005 she attended the Southern California School of Floral Design. She has been alongside Kari since opening day at Lillian Rose and has continued to pursue design excellence most recently in 2010 at Texas A&M University at a Workshop that included such instructors as the world renown Hitomi Gilliam AIFD.

She like Kari loves to keep up with the latest trends and design techniques and often travels to assist in creating floral masterpieces for shows such as AIFD National Symposium. On her days off she often strolls through such stores as Von Maur to get her fashion fix. If you see her, ask and maybe if you’re lucky she will show you her purple suede boots!

Maggie’s the one who coordinates, who reliably checks the email, who tries to organize the often artistic mayhem of wedding floral design!

Maggie grew up in New Haven amongst her grandmothers’ gardens and yearly birthday gifts of artist sets. From an early age she was a tomboy that loved everthing outdoors so it only fit that her very first job was the locally known Sandpoint Greenhouses. There she learned much from the myriad of floral designers they employed including Kari. Loving the wedding set ups and wanting to travel she moved on to the world of Hospitality where she could work more closely with Brides and in other events from The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island to the Hilton Resort on Daytona Beach. After completing her work on an Art and Humanities Degree she moved back home to Fort Wayne in 2009 and found the perfect setting for her talents with Kari at Lillian Rose!

When not working at the shop you can often find her voraciously searching for the latest fashion and wedding inspiration or planning her next trip on her Mac computer. If not, look at coffee shops, bookstores, or of course a local greenhouse and I’m sure you will run into her.

Our newest addition to the Lillian Rose design team, she is no newbie to flowers! She is a graduate of the Design Art Floral Academy in Indianapolis, the International Academy of Floral Design in Chicago and the Southern California School of Floral Design. She is a past President of the Indiana Teleflora Unit as well as a past Chairperson of the Indiana Floral Convention. She is an Indiana Certified Floral Designer and close friend and we welcome her talent to our team!

Delivery Driver, Vase/Bucket Washer, Flower Processor or otherwise known as our Schleper. Although she hates that last word I cannot convey her importance to our team! Without her we would not be as productive. When we can get her out of her cowboy boots you can see her beautiful face helping us set up weddings around town. We hope she knows that everyone starts where she is now, and without a strong root the most magnificent bloom cannot last long
